Metro
Brighton through to Port Noarlunga has been producing excellent numbers of Squid for both jetty and boat fisherman.
Garfish are big and in good numbers coming from both jetty and boat between Glenelg to Somerton. Tommy Rough are a decent size and also being caught on the same ground as the garfish. Whilst flathead are being caught in the shallows between Glenelg jetty and Somerton.
Blue swimmer crabs are continuing to fire from all the regular locations Brighton, Glenelg, Grange, Henley and Semaphore jetties are all worth a shot.
Shark fisherman have been hitting Grange jetty as bronze whaler sharks and small whites have been caught over the past couple of weeks.
West Lakes has also been producing some good Salmon Trout, King George Whiting, Bream and Garfish and makes a perfect combination for the kids with the playground at the Trimmer Parade end to keep the kids entertained.
The Port River has Kingfish varying in size, when targeting these fish its best to use live bait such as garfish, salmon trout and squid are the best options. A few have also been captured on soft plastic and dead baits.
Fisherman are finding some decent sized King George Whiting around Edithburgh & Tapley Shoal, Port Victoria, Port Turton and Port Victoria. Squid have also been caught at various locations across the peninsula Port Giles, Edithburgh, Wallaroo, Moonta and Ardrossan are the main jetties.
Crabs are out and about, and you will find these at most locations along the Yorke Peninsula, but the stand outs are Ardrossan, Port Vincent, Stansbury, Wallaroo, Moonta and Port Hughes.
With the incredibly warm weather we have had the last month. Good size Yellow Fin Whiting are starting to produce at Parsons Beach, Port Vincent, Port Broughton and Fisherman’s Bay. Focus on the sand flats on incoming tides and fish the gutter edges on the run out tide.
Kingfish are continuing to dominate the wall at Port Augusta, with many boats downrigging live squid, jigs and soft plastics all having plenty of hook ups and bust offs. Plenty of nice fish have been landed the last week. The season is starting to get stronger and stronger as we get closer to November.
Arno Bay, Tumby Bay, Port Neil, Port Lincoln, Venus Bay and Streaky Bay have all been doing very well on big King George Whiting, Squid, Salmon, Snook.
Fleurieu Peninsula & Kangaroo Island
Rapid Bay continues to produce good bags of squid for both jetty and boat anglers with Second Valley and Wirrina also producing early morning and around the tides. Solid bags of garfish and whiting from Normanville.
The Murray Mouth is producing Mulloway, Gummy Sharks and Bronze Whalers have been caught. Reports that Mulloway have also been caught at Victor Harbor.
Kangaroo Island has been producing good sized Marron, flathead and whiting.
South-East
Port MacDonnell Bluefin Tuna are continuing to run with boaties and charter operators bringing in barrels between 80-125kg to weigh in on the scales. The best results coming with skirted lures being trolled. Plenty of Gummy Sharks around so if you miss on the tuna try your luck on Gummies.
Tom ventured down to Port MacDonnell last weekend and
come up trumps with this cracking Barrel (Southern Blue Fin Tuna).
Freshwater
Katarapko Creek is producing yabbies. Blanchetown has been producing Golden Perch by the lock gates and the fish spawn. Plenty of carp to be caught on the bank edges at most locations Mawson Lakes, Torrens River, Warriparrina Wetlands and Blanchetown.
The southern reservoirs Happy Valley and Myponga have been producing catch and release Murray Cod and Redfin most captures have been on shallow and top water lures.
